Westnminster Election Results in Kinross and West Perthshire from 1964 and Stirling since 1983

Alec Douglas-Home won a by-election in Kinross and West Perthshire in 1963 in order to become Prime Minister. He had been, previously, a member of the House of Lords and returned there in 1974 when he was succeded by Nicky Fairbairn who went on to become Solicitor General.

Major boundary changes in 1983 saw much of the seat move into the Stirling constituency which has since been represented by Michael Forsyth, Ann McGuire and Steven Paterson.

Westminster Election Results in Stirling, Falkirk and Grangemouth from 1964 and Falkirk East since 1983

In 1971, Harry Ewing won the Stirling and Falkirk by-election and went on to represent Stirling, Falkirk and Grangemouth from 1974 and then Falkirk East from 1983 until he was elevated to the House of Lords in 1992.

In 2005 the area went in with Linlithgow and has been represented by Michael Connarty and Martin Day.

Westminster Election Results in Stirlingshire East and Clackmannanshire from 1964 and Clackmannan then Ochil since 1983

George Reid took over from Dick Douglas and won both elections held in 1974. He was succeded by Martin O'Neill who went on to represent Stirlingshire East and Clackmannanshire, then Clackmannan, then Ochil until 2005.

The seat became part of Ochil and South Perthshire in 2005 and has been represented by Gordon Banks and Tasmina Ahmed-Sheikh.

Westminster Election Results in Stirlingshire West from 1964 and Falkirk West since 1983

Dennis Canavan narrowly won the Stirlingshire West constituency in October 1974 then went on to be the local MP until he resigned from the House of Commons in 2000 forcing a by-election.  The seat has been renamed twice, becoming Falkirk West then Falkirk.

The by-election was won by Eric Joyce who stood down in 2015.  He was succeded by John McNally who had the largest majority in the SNP landslide of 2015.

Westminster Election Results in West Lothian from 1964 and Linlithgow since 1983

Tam Dalyell won the West Lothian by-election of 1962 and went on to represent the area until he stood down from Westminster in 2005.

The seat was renamed Linlithgow in 1983 and Linlithgow and Falkirk East in 2005 when Michael Connarty became the MP and was succeded by Martin Day in 2015.
